I am an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Interdisciplinary and Convergent Technologies (CIDCT), Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. At SRLab, I am currently involved in establishing ultrafast spectroscopy and imaging capabilities for direct investigation of hybrid materials.
At SRLab we ask the question : How does structural arrangement and coupling of parts in a material give rise to properties that the individual parts do not possess? For example, directed energy flow in a heterostructure, transfer of optical chirality at a hybrid interface, and charge localisation in deformable ionic structures. We use the techniques of ultrafast spectroscopy to observe these phenomena directly. You can find more in our Research page.
Before joining IIT-KGP, I worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chemical Physics Division, Lund University, Sweden with Tönu Pullerits, where I developed techniques of coherent phonon spectroscopy and spectroscopy using quantum light. I completed my Ph.D. from the Interdisciplinary Graduate Programme at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, where I was advised by Tze Chien Sum.
